The 39 Steps

I read this
When: May 2011
From my 'to read' bookshelf.
I bought this book as part of a set called Penguin Essentials in a charity shop 10 books for £6 - a bargain!
After finishing the Long Song, I was looking around for something new and picked this up. I must admit to getting a bit confused as I though this was about fake drug smuggling in WWII, but I was getting mixed up with The Third Man I think.

Be that as it may, I enjoyed reading this one, short and to the piont, I like the turn of teh 20th century style. I usually read more modern books, but this spy novel was a real page turner, set just before the start of WWI
Throughly enjoyable,
8/10
