Half of a Yellow Sun by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie

I read this
When: February 2011 ( for the second time)
Why:Re Read as I am giving away 48 copies on World Book Night
Plot:The human side of the Biafrian War
What I thought: I love the way this book just tells the human story of war, the characters do things without them appearing to be heroic.  The book shows that normal human emotions, conflicts, likes, dislikes, wants and needs are the same in times of peace and war.  A moving story.

World Book Night 2011

Welcome to my bookshelf!
This is my blog for comments on books I am reading, books I have read, books I would like to read and books I hope to write, in fact everything books!

I was lucky enough to be one of the people chosen to participate in the first World Book Night.  I will be collecting 48 copies of Half of  a Yellow Sun by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie from Waterstone's Bookstore at the Arc in Bury St Edmunds on 5 March 2011.  I chose this book from the 25 titles because I first read it on recommendation from a friend in Cambridge who had been recommended it by a relative in Denmark.  I would like to see just how far these 48 books can travel.  In the spirit of reading and sharing good books I will be giving the books away in various ways.  I would like everyone who receives a copy and reads it to share their thoughts about the book on this blog and to pass it on http://myworldbooknight.blogspot.com
